Homemade Uncrustables for Christmas
Skip the freezer aisle and make your own version of homemade uncrustables! The kids are going to love this festive Christmas spin on a lunchbox favorite!
Even as a tween, PJ loves those frozen sandwiches. She can eat a whole box in one sitting now, but she still loves them. There have even been times where she does not wait for them to thaw to eat one. I feel that maybe, as a mom, I should prevent this from happening. But hey, it’s one less thing I have to cook in a day. 😉
Well, since those little things never seem to go on sale, we have started making our own. And since it’s Christmas, we put a fun holiday spin on them!
Switch up the Flavors
We simply did peanut butter in these sandwiches, but the possibilities are endless on what you can do. Make a full peanut butter and jelly. Add some honey in with the peanut butter. Or some banana slices. Switch it up for Nutella. The options are endless.
Do I Have to Have a Sealer to Make Homemade Uncrustables?
Absolutely not. We simply used a round cookie cutter for this batch, but they weren’t going to last long and ended up not making it to the freezer. If you don’t have a sealer, use a glass that has a thick rim – press the glass down on top of the sandwich hard. Use a knife (or tear if you don’t want to dirty more utensils) to cut around the crust. Mom, eat the crusts while you put the uncrustables in a large Ziploc bag.
