How To Make the Brownies:
Mix up the brownie batter based on the instructions on the back of your box. Then pour the batter into a square pan – I used an 8×8.
Bake the brownies for about 5 minutes less than the directions on the box suggest.
Remove the brownies from the oven and while they are still hot, top them with the candy bars. Put them back in the oven for another 5 minutes or so. Then use a knife to spread the melted candy bars across the brownies to create a ‘frosting’.
Can I Substitute A Different Candy Bar?
Of course! I would highly recommend sticking to the chocolate bars – Milky Way or Reese’s PB Cups I think would be delicious as alternatives. I personally do not like nuts or crunchy things in my brownies, but a Snicker’s would work too for those of you that do.
Storing Leftovers
I’m not quite sure how you would have any left, but if you do, you would want to store the brownie squares in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. Keep them just on the counter or in a shelf in the pantry – you don’t want to put them in the fridge, it would harden the candy back up. I would recommend only keeping them for a day or two.
