A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to guest post for Jenny at The NY Melrose Family again!  In case you missed either post ~ the first time, I shared a delicious dinner so this time around I decided to go ahead and round out the meal with a tasty but oh so simple dessert!  Not only is it simple, it is also versatile.  You can substitute any of your favorite pie filling flavors!!

Print Friendly and PDF

INGREDIENTS:
1 package butter recipe cake mix
1/2 cup cold butter
1 egg
2 cans (20 ounces) apple pie filling

LETS COOK:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat 2 loaf pans with cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, beat together the cake mix, butter and egg until crumbly.

3. Pour your apples into your pans – 1 can per pan.

4. Cover the apples with the cake mix – you just have to crumble it on top and cover the apples as best you can.
5. Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping has started to turn golden brown and has hardened.

Be sure to join the party at
Mom’s Test Meal Mondays!!

Hi Susan, I used just a standard 9×5 loaf pan ~ the throw away ones you can get at the dollar store. As far as the size of the cans, goodness we got lucky! I had an old picture of the ingredients I was able to find!! They were 2 20 ounce cans of the apple pie filling ~ Kroger brand 🙂

Great cobbler! Love that the list of ingredients is short and it looks relatively easy to prepare! (I don’t have a lot of patience for baking)
