Holiday Vanilla Pudding Cake Cookies
These Holiday Vanilla Pudding Cake Cookies are the perfect treat for the Holidays! Made with items you probably already have in your pantry, they are simple enough for the kids to leave for Santa & no one would guess they came from a box!
Meet the cookie that is the best cookie the Hubs has “probably ever eaten in his life”. Seriously, that is how he described these cookies. Probably the easiest cookies I’ve ever made. And they were a complete ‘hey, let’s just see how this works out’ idea. I’m not quite sure what that says about all of the other cookies I’ve made…
They were honestly really good though. Good enough that I made the Hubs take them with him to work; otherwise, I would have eaten every. single. one. You’re welcome ladies of Metro Auto Auction. I hope you enjoyed them 😉
Holiday Vanilla Pudding Cake Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 box 16.25 ounces white cake mix
- 1 box 3.5 ounces vanilla instant pudding & pie mix
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- red & green decorating sugars
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, dry vanilla pudding, eggs, butter and milk – it will be VERY thick
- In a small bowl, combine equal amounts of the red & green sugars. You can also do two separate bowls of each color & make all red or all green cookies. Or do a little of each & go for a tye-die look 🙂
- Scoop the dough into tablespoon sized balls. Roll the dough in the decorating sugars, being sure to fully coat the dough. Place the coated dough on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are set.
- Cool for just a minute or two on the baking sheet and then remove to a wire rack to cool completely

These are delicious! Thanks for sharing…Make them, people!
These turned out wonderful! I wish I’d seen this recipe during Christmas time or I would have made them for the family. As it turned out I made them after the holidays since they sounded so good. I ended up using a butter golden cake mix since that was all I had. I just finished making a batch using a lemon cake mix and lemon pudding with the addition of white chocolate chips rolled in white sugar. Fabulous! Thank you for this versatile and delicious recipe!
Do you pu that oil, eggs and water in that is required for the cake mix??
Nope, you don’t need the oil, eggs & water. You just use the eggs, butter & milk in the recipe 🙂
I love white fudge – thank you.
Here’s a tip for the holiday vanilla pudding cookies: Cover the batter and put in the freezer for up to 3 hours. The batter was too soft and sticky at first and I was unable to work with it or roll into balls. Once it was cold it worked perfectly and the cookies are delicious.
Great tip! Thank you Angela! The batter was sticky; I just dropped the dough down into the sugar and shook it around until it had enough sugar on it to not be sticky! Your way sounds much better & less messy! 😉
I like jam thumbprints, rolled in coconut.
Gingerbread cookies are my favorite.
I love sugar cookies
Chai-Spiced sugar cookies. 🙂
