Homemade Apple Pie Spice Mix
Forget expensive store-bought spice mixes that are full if fillers and try this Homemade Apple Pie Spice Mix – it’s the quintessential flavors of Fall!
Apple Pie Spice Mix is one of those things that is great to have on hand for seasoning all kinds of delicious goodies. I love baking with fresh apples and also applesauce, and this is the perfect accompaniment for that tasty apple flavor. But, let’s face it, it’s waaay overpriced at the grocery store! You can buy good quality spices and make your own mix in just a few minutes.
Before we get to the recipe, let me share with you a few of my favorite apple treats (click on an image to go to each recipe):
Ok, now back to the Apple Pie Spice Mix!
This recipe makes about 3/4 of a cup. I like to take 1/2 cup and package it into a 4oz mason jar, add a ribbon and pretty gift tag and give it as a gift with some fresh apples and one of my recipe cards. The rest fits nicely into a salt/pepper size shaker jar for my own use.

This is a great spice mix, Jaime! I will prepare it as soon as possible so the next time I make an apple pie I have it at the reach of my hand.
I was very excited to try your Apple Pie spice mix. However, when I looked at your recipe for your apple pie, I noticed that you do not even use your own spice mix in your own apple pie recipe. Why is this? Your apple pie recipe only calls for cinnamon and nutmeg. I am confused, as I only put cinnamon and nutmeg in my apple pies.
Hey Kristie! Which Apple Pie recipe are you referring to? If it’s one here on MTK, then the apple pie spice wouldn’t have been used because that recipe was one shared by one of my contributing bloggers – Ang 🙂
