That’s such a sweet memory! I love hearing about memories that food & recipes bring up! My grandparents still have their old butter churn that has the long stick going into it to make the butter. I used to love to play with that when I was a kid!

I know Deauna!! I had no idea it was so easy either!! I can’t wait to give this a try!! 🙂

When I was a kid, every year before Thanksgiving, my mother would come to my classroom and bring jars and heavy cream for us kids to shake and make butter. I remember all the little boys would roll their eyes, saying “who cares.” But they would inevitably get into it and take over the shaking once our arms got tired and everyone would squeal as the butter formed.

Then we’d eat the fresh butter spread on fresh baguettes. The kids all thought my mom was a genius. Lol.

Thanks for bringing back the memories. I’m going to bring some heavy cream in a mason jar to my mother’s for turkey day this year and try to re-start the tradition!
